6pm – 8:30pm | Show 7pm
Australian couple Eleanor Lyons (soprano) and Vladimir Fanshil (conductor/pianist) have been based in Europe since 2007, this season marked Eleanor’s debut as soloist with both the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and with Opera Australia in Don Giovanni, which both received critical acclaim. Vladimir Fanshil has recently conducted in such venues as the Paris Philharmonic, Luxembourg Philharmonic and is a guest conductor of the Mariinsky theatre in St Petersburg. They have had an extended stay in Australia due to covid and for a limited time are performing in smaller venues to resurrect the ‘salon concert’ atmosphere and share the joy of classical music and opera with both first timers and connoisseurs!
The programme is an eclectic mix of operatic favourites, a solo Rachmaninov piece on the piano, music written especially for them by Elena Kats-Chernin and a poetic song cycle by Grieg which is accompanied by poetry reading.
This is a truly unique opportunity to hear and see some of Australia’s finest classical musicians in the cozy comfort of Camelot.
