The purple patch of Sydney’s premier guitar pop group The Nature Strip continues with third album Beetle Bones. Produced by the group’s two songwriters John Encarnacao (mostly guitar) and Pete Marley (mostly bass), the group is completed by Matt Langley (mostly keyboards) and Jess Ciampa (drums); Ciampa is the well-known and loved Camelot constant who plays with Monsieur Camembert, Jeff Duff’s Bowie Unzipped and umpteen other acts. Jess and John also play in Camelot faves, XTC tribute band Scarecrow People, and The Nature Strip is recommended for fans of XTC, Talking Heads, Blondie, The Cars and indeed Bowie.
Very, very special guests for this show are the Bernie Hayes Quartet. Bernie is one of Australia’s best-loved singer-songwriters – covered by The Whitlams, his songs a presence on Radio National, blessed with an exceptional voice and a way with a lyric that strikes at the heart.
