THE MUSIC OF THE BEE GEES
Aug 7 all-day

Session 1: 6:00pm – 8:00pm | Show 6:30pm
Session 2: 8:30pm – 10:30pm | Show 9:00pm

The Album Show presents The Music of the Bee Gees (in semi acoustic mode)

The music of the Bee Gees transcends most other song catalogues for not only its enduring and diverse material, but also the longevity and versatility of their songs. From their original British Pop influences, through to their second chapter encompassing disco and funk, their timeless ballads and even dalliances with authentic country and soul music, you would be hard pressed to find writers who achieved so much over such a long period.

The Album Show will be presenting a purpose built selection of iconic songs from the Gibb Brothers’ catalogue in a night of stripped back simplicity, where the songs will be pushed to the fore. Featuring the incredible voices of Anthony Snape and Peta Caswell, with Paul Hakim and Album Show leader Michael Carpenter, this show promises to be an unforgettable night of soaring vocals, and engaging harmonies framed by a subtle but engaging accompaniment, adding another chapter to the evolving catalogue of Album Show shows.

LLOYD SPIEGEL
Aug 14 all-day

Session 1: 6:00pm – 8:00pm | Show 6:30pm (60-70 mins)
Session 2: 8:30pm – 10:30pm | Show 9:00pm (60-70 min)

Renowned acoustic guitar slinger Lloyd Spiegel is delighted to announce his return to Camelot Lounge!

Of course, like everyone else, Spiegel has been in virtual hibernation for the last year or so and is keen to hit the bandstand with a renewed energy, fire in his belly, and fronting his new trio.

Featuring trombonist extraordinaire Lisa Baird and long-time collaborator Tim Burnham on drums, the trio allows Spiegel a little bit of extra scope to bring the flavours of his albums to life in concert. The grooves are deeper, New Orleans is in the house, and the joint will be rocking. Since it seems we’re all allowed to dance now, we should take every opportunity to do so.

Lloyd will be playing tracks from 2019’s multiple award-winning album Cut and Run, along with back catalogue and blues classics.

The family that plays together, stays together.. and in the nutty world of The Pigs, family (and beer, and bluegrass) is all that matters.. and did I mention… you’re family too.
T-Bone, Stretch, Cousin Shamus, Cousin Bert & Cousin Montz (who plays Banjo of course), last name PIG, like to have fun and their music speaks to that… but also pokes much deeper.. life, love, heartache, Robot Goats even. Expect to be shocked by their dress & hear their many hits – even that one about Moisturiser.
Not sure yet? Ask a friend or look ‘em up.

NICK CHARLES + THE WEEPING WILLOWS @ Django
Aug 22 all-day

6pm doors, 6:30pm show

Nick Charles is launching his ninth solo album, Guitar Music. The Age has labelled him “Australia’s virtuoso of acoustic roots and blues”, gathering every blues, folk and songwriting award this country has to offer. These include Port Fairy Folk Festival Artist of the Year, The Age Blues Album of the Year, twice winner of the Australian Song Contest and every Australian blues award multiple times.

His music draws on the rich history of fingerstyle blues, ragtime and early jazz, with an instinctive eclectic melodic sense. His musical icons range from Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy and Blind Blake to more contemporary fingerstyle masters and composers. Nick has toured the USA 13 times in recent years, performing more than 300 shows there. Guitar Music has a typically broad palette of influences and includes wonderful renditions of acoustic guitar classics and a nod to his country blues heroes.

2021 CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ award winners, The Weeping Willows will open the show, launching their brand new EP. Willows Andrew Wrigglesworth and Laura Coates are a couple of old souls, steeped in Bluegrass tradition and draped in Gothic Americana imagery. They regale their audiences with stories of sunshine and romance, God and The Devil, murder and decay. A Weeping Willows performance, whether live on location or caught on tape will always delight.
