6pm doors, 7pm show
“A contralto of power, range and conviction…Nadya has the sort of voice that would light up a room if the power failed…” (John Shand, SMH).
Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to experience “Australia’s Queen of Gypsy Soul” Nadya Golski (Nadya’s 101 Candles Orkestra) in a rare trio setting with two giants of Australia’s Gypsy music scene! Nadya will be joined by Russian/Romanian accordion virtuoso Leonid Beshlei (Lolo Lovina) and beloved Russian Jewish sax player Edouard Bronson (Monsieur Camembert). Edouard is a national treasure, or as John Shand from SMH puts it: “Australia’s finest saxophonist…a sound to melt chocolate, hearts or steel with equal ease…were it played near a cemetery there would be widespread resurrection!”
From French & Italian tunes to Balkan Gypsy tunes to tango, this will be a most uplifting evening of joyous, passionate music, played the way it SHOULD be played. No artifices, no gimmicks – just 3 wonderful musicians playing their heart out, transporting you to faraway lands, bordellos and underground Gypsy speakeasies!
